Easily one of the most mesmerizing realms of the Epic Universe, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk offers a mind-blowing escape from your typical theme park experience.
When you're strolling around the awesome 15.5-acre village, blasting water cannons from a Viking ship, or watching an amazing Broadway-style show featuring fire-breathing dragons, the Isle of Berk really nails the vibe. It brings to life a cool moment of peace between the Vikings and dragons, kinda like the time in the trilogy between the second and third films.
Step out of the dragon racing bleachers and become the newest dragon racer in the heart of Berk.
Are you pumped for your next dragon race? People at the park really enjoy themselves when they’re in charge, or rather, in the flyer’s seat. At Dragon Racer’s Rally, you’ll be twisting and turning on these dragon-riding trainers that swing around like a pendulum.
You can select how intense your ride is, from really wild to super chill, as Ryan Paul, the engineering manager, said. Get ready to have some fun practicing high-speed barrel rolls and flying at some wild angles!
A dragon training ground transformed into a boat battle amidst the world of dragons.
This awesome splash attraction is super interactive, just like many others in the park, and it tells a cool story along with the thrills. You’ll join the Viking twins Ruffnut and Tuffnut as they've transformed Berk's Fyre Skööl training ground from the movies into a boat battle.
With fire-breathing dragons around, your objective is to put out flame-like targets with water cannons that can shoot over 28 feet! To make it even more exciting, Epic Universe has turned the ride into a game where two sides of the boat compete against one another.
Enjoy memorable twists and turns with Vikings and dragons throughout the ride.
Picture yourself soaring mightily around the Isle of Berk, skimming above a lagoon while riding a winged glider. Although it's branded as the "family coaster" at Epic Universe, Hiccup's Wing Gliders offers exhilarating experiences for everyone, regardless of age.
Bringing Universal's characters and stories to life is what Epic Universe is all about, and the roller coaster really has a fun backstory. So, Hiccup comes up with this cool mechanical glider to feel like he's flying on Toothless, his Night Fury dragon. But Toothless isn't too happy about it and playfully decides to send out the gliders without wings, which makes for a wild ride!
An incredible show where Vikings and fire-breathing dragons exist together in harmony.
Epic Universe is all about bringing Hiccup and Toothless to life with the coolest tech and amazing set designs! You can look forward to fun music, lots of laughter, and even a huge 27-foot dragon flying right above you during the performance. This live stage show, called The Untrainable Dragon, is being promoted as a top-tier Broadway show, and it is inspired by Universal Beijing Resort’s sensational 2021 show.
Meet Hiccup and Toothless + more!
One of the fun things about this area is the character meet-ups. If you want an amazing photo op, check out Haddock Paddock in the Viking village, where you can find Hiccup and Toothless. And you never know, you might see Astrid with her dragon Stormfly hanging out on the Isle of Berk as well. The Viking village also features 30 amazing dragon species, and a lot of them are animated!
Interactive adventure play camp for future dragon trainers.
This play area has vibrant climbing towers and a dedicated area for preschoolers. It's not just for play, though; there are some fun surprises, like a sheep-launching game and an agility course to test the skills of our young Vikings. And don't miss the original movie props tucked away in there, too!
This vibrant racing-themed food stand guarantees that its snacks and beverages are as imaginative as its catchy name suggests. Envision savoring mac ‘n’ cheese cones, featuring a spectrum of diverse styles and flavors.
If you haven’t seen Mead Hall yet, you’re missing out. It looks like it’s made from mountain rock, and those entrance doors are nearly 17 feet tall! It’s the main eating place on the Isle of Berk with hearty dishes like the Surf and Turf Thawfest Platter and plenty of ales and hard seltzers. The inside is filled with neat Viking-themed decorations!
Spit Fyre Grill is another awesome quick-service restaurant where you can enjoy some juicy, flame-seared meats. You can throw those on a bed of greens, grains, or rice. It's tucked away in the Trader's area of Berk, perfect for grabbing a quick meal before hitting the shops.
